THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE; the issuance of bonds in the amount of $8,500,000 for school technology improvements and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
Proposition B would allow Manor ISD to borrow up to $8.5 million to replace outdated technology devices used by students and staff. The district reports that 5,861 devices are 7 to 10 years old and have reached or exceeded their expected useful life. The new devices would be used for classroom instruction, testing, communication and access to educational resources. Property taxes would be used to repay the bonds and interest. Bond money can be used for the technology approved by voters but generally cannot be used for everyday operating expenses such as salaries and utilities.

A vote FOR would authorize Manor ISD to issue up to $8.5 million in bonds and levy property taxes to repay them.

A vote AGAINST would not authorize the bonds.
