Shall the City Charter be amended to allow public comment during removal proceedings without requiring City Council approval?
The City Charter contains procedures for hearings involving the possible removal of the Mayor or a City Council member. Currently, public comment during these Council-member removal proceedings requires approval from a majority of the Council members present. Proposition K would allow public comment without first requiring a Council vote. The City Council could still establish rules for public comment.
A vote FOR would allow public comment during removal proceedings without prior Council approval.
A vote AGAINST would keep the current requirement.
