... .
THIS IS A TAX INCREASE; the issuance of bonds in the amount of $260,000,000 for citywide park, recreation, aquatic, and open space improvements , and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principle of and interest in bonds.
Proposition A would allow the City of Austin to borrow up to $260 million to improve parks, recreation centers, swimming pools, trails, and open space. The money would fund projects throughout Austin and could be used to buy land for parks, for expanding trails and greenways, and for a new District 6 recreation center. The City estimates a maximum annual tax increase of $8.14 for each $100,000 of a residence homestead's appraised value, based on the assumptions in its voter information document.

A vote FOR would authorize the City to issue the bonds and levy property taxes to repay them.

A vote AGAINST would not authorize the bonds.
