Benbrook City Council, Place 4

City councils in Texas each have specific responsibilities unique to their city. Duties of a city council generally include setting the tax rate, approving a budget, adopting local ordinances, and managing land transactions. City councils plan and oversee public services and facilities: police and fire protection; health and sanitation services; animal control; street construction and maintenance; garbage collection and disposal; transportation systems; recreational facilities; parking; airports; jails; parks and zoos; libraries and museums; hospitals and emergency services; building codes/zoning; and water and sewage service. City council members may also elect other municipal officers or appoint citizens to serve on boards and commissions.

Occupation Engineer
Education: Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Texas State Technical College (TSTC)

Professional Experience: 40 years of engineering experience, including work with General Dynamics, Harris Corporation, and Lockheed Martin.
I’ve called Benbrook home for over 40 years, and I care deeply about this community. After more than 40 years in engineering, I’ve learned to listen, look at the facts, solve problems, and plan for the future. I want to bring that experience to City Council and use my experience and knowledge of Benbrook to help make good decisions for our community and its future.
I believe City Hall should feel like it belongs to all of us. As a council member, I’ll make myself available, listen to residents, and make sure residents have a real opportunity to be heard before decisions are made. I’ll promote clear, timely information about council meetings and decisions and encourage open, respectful conversations. We may not always agree, but every Benbrook resident deserves to know they were heard and treated with respect.
Every Benbrook resident should be treated fairly and with respect. As a council member, I would support policies that comply with applicable federal and state law, protect residents from unlawful discrimination, and ensure equal access to city services and opportunities. City policies should be clear, consistently applied, and focused on serving all residents fairly.
Immigration enforcement is primarily a federal responsibility. As a City Council member, my focus would be Benbrook’s public safety and the effective use of our local police resources. I support lawful cooperation with federal agencies when appropriate. Any 287(g) participation should be evaluated based on its effect on public safety, staffing, costs, training, due process, and the needs of Benbrook.
Benbrook’s priorities are responsible growth, infrastructure, traffic, floodplain protection, grocery access, and preserving our quality of life. I will listen to residents, speak up for responsible development, push for needed road and infrastructure improvements, and work to attract quality grocery options and services. Most importantly, I will promote honesty, transparency, and accountability at City Hall and make sure residents’ voices are heard.

I bring eight years of experience serving on the Benbrook City Council, along with 14 years of nonprofit executive leadership. My background includes financial oversight, workforce strategy, grant management, compliance, organizational growth, and community partnerships. Combined with my education and involvement in local business and civic organizations, this experience has prepared me to continue serving Benbrook effectively.
Benbrook has a strong tradition of open government and public participation. Residents are given the opportunity to speak at City Council meetings, and those who cannot attend can contact council members directly by email or other means. I can read residents’ comments into the record when appropriate. I believe transparency means making information accessible, listening to residents, and ensuring people have a meaningful opportunity to be heard.
I support policies that protect every resident’s constitutional and civil rights and ensure equal treatment under the law. At a time when our nation is divided on many issues, respect and decency matter. We can disagree passionately and remain firm in our principles while still listening to one another. I believe city policies should be fair, clear, legally compliant, and applied consistently to everyone.
We are a nation of laws, and as a council member I take seriously my oath to uphold the Constitution and the laws of our nation, state, and city. I support lawful cooperation with federal authorities, particularly when public safety is involved. At the same time, I have real concerns about hardworking, family-oriented, tax-paying residents being separated from their families. Immigration enforcement should be lawful, fair, and focused on public safety.
Benbrook’s greatest challenge is managing growth while protecting the hometown character that makes our community special. As the city approaches full build-out, being surrounded by Fort Worth, I want to ensure Benbrook remains welcoming, safe, and a great place to live at every stage of life.

I also believe strong schools are critical to a strong community. Our educators and administrators deserve support, and our students need the resources and opportunities to succeed.
