I grew up in Rock Hill and went to these schools and education is engrained in my family. I was a high school math teacher for 5 years, & my wife was an elementary P.E teacher for 7 years. We have been in the teacher's shoes and know how to support them. We also have a 3 year old son who will be entering into the school district in just a short time and know the power that the public education system can bring to a community.

We look at the board and know that it is rare for someone to have actual teaching experience. On top of that, I have a local real estate business. The first question I get asked is "How are the schools?" I know that as Rock Hill School District, we have to be competitive and appealing now more than ever!
We have to focus on rebuilding relationships and trust within our community first. There has been turmoil between councils and parents, teachers, and students have to feel their board can be trusted.

I am a strong believer in facility maintenance and upgrades. Presentation matters! Some of our schools are nearing the 40 year mark, if not longer. Not only does it attract new people moving into the district, it also provides a better environment for our teachers, students, and support staff to perform their best.

School safety is the biggest priority. Teachers, students and staff perform better when they feel protected and safe. That means more than just a fence around a school. It's about the policy and procedures implemented to ensure it.
It is rare to have a board member who has multiple years in the classroom as a teacher, and has the business experience as well to understand complex financial and legal documents. Every experience I have had in my professional career has prepared me for this role. I also have a vested interested in this community for years to come. As a young 33 year old professional with connections within the community, I have the ability to bring energy and a perspective to a board that quite honestly needs it. It's time for change within our community and we need leaders of the future that will actually be impacted by it to step up and take a stand. I'm willing and able to do that and I would appreciate your vote on November 3rd!
