I recognize that we have issues that need to be addressed. Affordability, accessibility and safety among them. Fort Mill specifically is growing exponentially. Our current delegation has not been focusing on addressing the issues that impact us the greatest. Instead, some continue to rely on divisive rhetoric and finger pointing. Columbia needs representatives that bring diversity of thought and background to effectively govern. I am running to give access to voters to have a voice. To save space for people to be heard. Current leadership narrows their representation to those that think alike. I want to encourage more voices, more participation, more access to government and create conversations that lead to better lives.
1. Address cost of living issues - lower gas prices (reduce tax added), & utility prices (limit data centers, prevent energy company mergers), grocery prices (market manipulation, supply issues, safety) 2. Addressing exponential growth - review collaboration b/w State, County and City to coordinate efforts and prioritizing economic growth planning. 3. Public school protection - keep funding in public schools, address accountability and regulation of voucher program (or challenge Constitutionality) and extend resources and accessibility to children as young as 3. Necessary to create opportunities for working families, to identify academic or social/emotional needs of child, and to expand reach of resources, including reading materials.
I have been a public servant for 25+ yrs. Understanding the impact of implementing laws, I know what resources could be directed to ensure the intended purpose is fulfilled. I will advocate for resources to be directed appropriately to help close gaps in the system. I will use my experience to anticipate concerns, update constituents on upcoming issues, hold town halls and have hard conversations about the realities we're facing. I also hope to work with area leaders to balance the growth while keeping the green space and limit saturation of development without true progress or benefit to our infrastructure. Most importantly, I will interrupt the flow of disinformation to the public and govern transparently.
