I bring more than 14 years of experience in state government, along with years of leadership representing employees and working with senior leadership to solve complex problems. I understand budgets, regulations, accountability and how government decisions affect everyday people. As a former PTO president and longtime Little Falls resident, I also understand the importance of community involvement. I’m running because residents deserve a mayor who listens, asks tough questions, works collaboratively and keeps affordability at the center of city decisions.
My top three priorities are affordability, economic growth and stronger neighborhoods. I will carefully review spending and look for efficiencies to help reduce pressure on property taxpayers. I will work to support existing businesses while encouraging new investment and jobs. Finally, I will focus on clean, safe neighborhoods, infrastructure and quality of life so Little Falls remains a community where families and businesses can afford to stay and grow.
Transparency starts with making information understandable and accessible. I will encourage open communication about city finances, priorities and major decisions and explain the reasoning behind them. I will ask questions, expect accountability and ensure residents have meaningful opportunities to provide input. Ethical leadership also means treating people fairly, following the rules consistently and remembering that elected officials work for the public.
Listening to residents has been one of the most valuable parts of my campaign, and it will continue if I am elected. I will be accessible, encourage residents to contact me and seek input beyond City Hall. I want regular conversations with residents, neighborhoods and local businesses. People should have opportunities to provide input before major decisions are made, not simply hear about them afterward. Every resident deserves to know their concerns are taken seriously.
Public safety is a core responsibility of city government. I will support our police, fire and emergency personnel while encouraging strong relationships between public safety professionals and the community. Community policing works best when residents know and trust those who serve them. I will support communication, prevention and collaboration while ensuring our public safety departments have the resources necessary to respond effectively and keep Little Falls safe.
My wife Gabrielle and I grew up in Little Falls. After college, we decided to move back to our hometown to raise our family and make a positive, meaningful change. Our four children are now young adults, and our retired parents still live in LF, as well. This gives me perspective on what each generation faces. I want to be a strong voice of leadership, not only on the council, but in the community. I love our town, and the four years I spent on the council opened my eyes to the many challenges and opportunities we face. I am in a unique position because I am not brand new, but I am new enough to bring a fresh perspective and the energy to move us forward. The last four years we have made some progress, but we need to keep advancing.
1. Managing an affordable, responsible budget. This is a challenge LF is facing because we have eroding infrastructure. We need to fix these problems while keeping it affordable to live here.
2. Recruit vibrant businesses and industry to LF and encourage them to grow. More commerce will ease the tax burden on LF citizens.
3. Improve and maintain parks and public spaces. We have a beautiful city with wonderful amenities that make LF special. It is important that we steward these assets well.
Transparency starts with keeping residents informed before decisions are made. I will communicate regularly about city issues, projects, and spending. I will hold myself and city leadership accountable, follow established policies, and make decisions based on what is best for our community. I will encourage residents to attend or watch council meetings online, ask questions and voice their concerns. Local government works best when citizens have timely information and a voice in their community.
I firmly believe that residents should have an active voice in local government. I appreciate when people stop me at Coborn’s, Bill’s Standard, or the Black & White to chat, and I often check Rant & Rave to see what people are discussing. I enjoy listening to all perspectives, because we’re all neighbors and we all want what is best for LF. I have made my email and phone number public, and I am quick to respond when someone contacts me. My goal is to build a city government that listens first.
When it comes to public safety, Little Falls does well. Typically, if the police or fire departments need equipment or support, the existing council addresses their needs swiftly and seriously. However, we still have major areas to improve. First and foremost, the police and fire station buildings are in serious need of updates, especially the police station. We need to take steps in the right direction to fix these buildings so we can hire officers and firefighters who are proud to serve LF.
