I have lived in Hugo for over 25 years, raised a family, owned my own business and worked on the Hugo Fire Department. I have meet many of the Hugo residents while working on the Fire Department and operating the Neighborguy Handyman business, I know many of their concerns and hopes for the City of Hugo. I have seen the growth of this city over the years and am looking forward to what Hugo will become in the future. Now that I am retired, I have the time and energy to focus on the city of Hugo and the demands of this position.
Programs for children and families. Create a summer children’s park program so that more families have access to opportunities for kids during the summer months.
Responsible growth and downtown development. Continuing growth in Hugo by encouraging new and improved businesses in the undeveloped downtown area.
Support for existing businesses. Review and support current businesses to ensure they remain responsive to the needs of the community and continue to contribute positively to Hugo’s future
I believe I will be a voice when others might be silenced for all citizens of Hugo responding to their concerns by answering their emails and returning their phone calls in a timely manner. Taking the lead while others stand silent. Making myself available at community events where I can interact with my neighbors.
I would focus on ensuring that city funds are spent responsibly and transparently. I would review payments made to vendors and contractors to confirm that they are meeting the terms of their contracts and delivering quality work for the community.
Residents should be able to trust that they are not overpaying for products or services and that public dollars are being used in the best interest of Hugo.
