I bring 21 years of proven local leadership to Chanhassen, including 18 years on the City Council and 3 years on the Planning Commission (2 as Chair). My regional governance experience includes serving as Chair for both the Southwest Transit Board of Commissioners and the Suburban Transit Association (two terms each), alongside my work on the Joint Airport Zoning Board for Flying Cloud Airport. This extensive track record proves my readiness to lead our city as Mayor.

Chanhassen has established strong transparency tools during my council tenure. As Mayor, I will champion our open-door culture by hosting project open houses for direct resident feedback. I will maximize our digital transparency via city website project trackers and public comment portals. Our council's direct contact info will always remain accessible, and I am personally committed to meeting one-on-one with any resident to address questions about our city government.
The loss of local newspapers requires adaptive communication. I will leverage social media and digital channels to fill this information gap before issues escalate. Recognizing Chanhassen's active word-of-mouth network, I will ensure early-stage project details are highly visible. This allows residents to easily engage with staff, council members, and my office via phone or email before final decisions are made.
Public safety is Chanhassen’s premier responsibility. I will ensure our police, fire, and first responders remain our top budget priorities every single year. During each budget cycle, my administration will actively seek resident feedback on service delivery. Continually evaluating and optimizing our emergency resource allocation ensures Chanhassen families remain safe, protected, and exceptionally well-served.
Chanhassen deserves a mayor who pairs deep local experience with a track record of real results. As a City Councilmember and 2025 Deputy Mayor, I helped deliver a new City Hall within budget and championed the recreation center voters approved. As former Planning Commission Chair, I understand development decisions from the ground up. My analytics career at Procter & Gamble, Target, and Accenture taught me to ask hard questions and check assumptions against data before decisions are made, not after. Chanhassen has real momentum and I'm ready to build on that with the same rigor and resident-first focus I've brought to City Hall for seven years.
First, fiscal responsibility: scrutinizing every budget line so levy increases return to our historical norms as current capital projects wrap up. Second, finishing what we started downtown: delivering the civic campus vision and 2050 Comprehensive Plan without sacrificing Chanhassen's character. Third, public safety: making sure our Sheriff's contract and emergency services keep pace with a growing city. These are the disciplined priorities I've brought to council for four years.
Transparency starts with giving residents the full picture. I was an early advocate for the Chan Check-In, our award-winning digital effort to keep residents informed, and I've pushed for clear communication on budgets, utility billing and road assessments. I support opt-in email summaries of council meetings and tools like See-Click-Fix so residents can track issues in real time. As mayor, I'll hold every decision to that same standard of openness.
I believe residents should weigh in before decisions are made, not after. I'll build on the Chan Check-In and expand proactive public forums, like the 2050 Comprehensive Plan Think Tank sessions already scheduled, so people can shape big land-use and budget questions directly. Good leadership means residents trust their voice shaped the outcome, even when it isn't exactly what they proposed. I'll keep pushing City Hall to make information and input easier to find.
Chanhassen contracts with the Carver County Sheriff's Office for patrols and investigative support. As mayor, I'll make sure that contract keeps pace with a growing city: adequate staffing, fast response times and a strong working relationship between deputies and residents. I'll also support our fire department's growing demands in ways that aid recruiting and retention. Public safety works best when residents and public safety professionals trust each other.
