Four years ago, I was elected to bring greater transparency, fiscal responsibility, academic excellence, and a common-sense perspective to the School Board. I am proud to have delivered on that promise.
My husband, Paul, and I have called Prior Lake home for 15 years and raised our three children here. I am committed to ensuring every student receives a high-quality education and the foundational skills needed to thrive after graduation.
I am from North Dakota, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary. I bring more than 25 years of experience in business leadership, finance, and along with 20 years of community service. I have the experience needed and ready to continue to serve our community.
My top priority is putting students first. Every policy, budget decision, and School Board vote should start with one question: How will this help students learn? That means improving proficiency, building strong foundational skills, supporting teachers, maintaining safe and focused classrooms, and directing resources where they have the greatest impact.
Our schools should prepare every student with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed after graduation.
Having served on the board for the past four years, I have seen our administration recommend cuts to teachers and student programs, cuts I did not support. I have always advocated for keeping budget reductions as far away from the classroom as possible.
That requires a twofold approach: adopting a new budgeting methodology and addressing declining enrollment. We must understand why families are choosing other options and reverse the trend so that families once again choose PLSAS.
We receive more than $1 million in state and local Achievement and Integration funding. While these funds have previously been used for social programs and administrative expenses, I have strongly advocated for directing more of this funding into the classroom. It should be used to provide tutoring, curriculum resources, and targeted support for students who need additional help and may not have access to these resources at home.
As a school board director, I am elected to represent our community and ensure its values and priorities are heard. I will actively seek input from teachers, staff, and families, including both union and independent voices. Addressing the challenges facing public education requires open communication and collaboration. By listening respectfully and working together, we can make better decisions and achieve stronger outcomes for our students.

I bring 30+ years of experience building companies through challenging markets, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and test new ideas.
We can do more with the resources we have. Any additional local funding should be tied to measurable student outcomes, with weekly and monthly leading indicators and a quarterly public report card.
I believe prior union-endorsed board majorities spent too much on DEI initiatives while enrollment declined and MCA results weakened.
A conservative majority can provide stronger oversight, focus spending on academics, improve curriculum, and hold both administration and students accountable for results.
My top three priorities are Results, Stewardship, and Leadership. Results means improving academic outcomes and measuring what students actually learn. Stewardship means ensuring every dollar produces a clear Return on Education. Leadership means stronger Board oversight, transparent reporting, and accountability for administration. Together, these priorities can rebuild trust, strengthen enrollment, and move PLSAS toward becoming a true world-class destination district.
I would start with a Return on Education review of every major expense. Protect classroom instruction, effective teachers, and programs producing measurable student results. Reduce or eliminate low-impact initiatives, administrative overhead, and spending not tied to core academics. Staffing and programs must also be right-sized to enrollment. Cuts should be strategic, transparent, and focused on preserving what delivers the greatest value to students.
I would address disparities by focusing on individual student needs, not assumptions based on race or income. Use transparent data to identify gaps in reading, math, attendance, discipline, and advanced-course access. Direct resources to proven interventions, tutoring, strong curriculum, family engagement, and career pathways. Every student deserves high expectations, equal treatment, and a real opportunity to succeed without lowering standards.
I will create regular opportunities for teachers and families to be heard through listening sessions, surveys, advisory groups, and direct communication with the Board. I also believe in closing the feedback loop—explaining how input was considered and why decisions were made. Teachers bring frontline experience, and parents are essential partners. Both should have a meaningful voice while the Board remains accountable for district-wide decisions.
