A Proposal to Amend the Benton Harbor City Charter to ESTABLISH A BENTON HARBOR HEALTH EQUALITY COMMITTEE AND REQUIRE A HEALTHCARE ACTION PLAN
A proposal to amend the Benton Harbor City Charter to establish a Benton Harbor Health Equality Committee appointed by the City Commission to address health care affordability and access. TheCommittee would gather public testimony from the community; analyze data; review how federal, state, and local policies have affected healthcare affordability and access; and produce a biennialHealthcare Action Plan. The Healthcare Action Plan would evaluate changes in health insurance and benefit coverage, track actions of federal and state officials, and recommend solutions. The CityCommission would adopt and publish a Healthcare Action Plan.Shall this proposal be adopted?
