My top priorities are public education, health care, and clean water.
I owe everything to the education I received at public schools and public universities, and I will prioritize full and equitable funding of our public schools.
Minnesota’s health care system has world-class doctors and hospitals, but a serious problem with affordability and accessibility. Costs are skyrocketing, and federal inaction is making it worse. I'll push for the Minnesota Health Plan, a single-payer plan.
Every Minnesotan deserves to have clean, safe water to drink, and a healthy environment in which to grow and thrive. I’ll use my experience as an environmental advocate to push for clean energy, clean water, and environmental justice for all Minnesotans.
Small businesses are the backbone of our community and the state's economy. One of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs who want to start a business and current small business owners is health insurance cost and availability, and I want to address that through the Minnesota Health Plan. Our tax structure should not benefit the largest corporations over our small businesses.
Operation Metro Surge disproportionately harmed immigrant communities and immigrant-owned small businesses, and the Legislature failed to provide aid in 2026, I'll advocate for it in 2027. Excellent public education is one of the best ways to address racial and ethnic disparities, as well as access to job training and technical education, and I will fight for the resources public education needs to help everybody, but especially in communities of color and poor communities.
Yes, and it's shocking to me that we are still debating this issue. Every person, regardless of their gender, race, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or gender expression, deserves the same human rights in employment, housing, and treatment by the government. I'm proud to be endorsed by Gender Justice Action, who have been pushing for the ERA in Minnesota. If elected, it will be a priority of mine to get this done.
The federal government has failed to protect Minnesota's clean water and air, and that means our state government must step up. Our district provides clean drinking water to 1 in 6 Minnesotans, and our state is home to the BWCA and Lake Superior. I'd support permanent protection of the BWCA from sulfide mining pollution, the Prove it First bill, improve enforcement of wetland protections, and state laws to fill in where the federal government is withdrawing environmental protections.
Public safety depends on communication and community trust, not technology or surveillance. Community policing is a critical tool because crimes are prevented and solved through relationships with people and the information that they can provide. I believe that the expense of Flock cameras and drones should be redirected toward personnel, including adding social workers to respond to calls where mental health support is needed.
The Citizens United court decision, which allowed a flood of corporate and dark money to flow into our elections, must be reversed. I support the Transparent Elections Initiative, using state law to get corporate money out of politics. I support public financing of elections, and will advocate for changes that expand and streamline Minnesota's public elections financing, including the Political Contribution Refund program.
