My top priority will be to make affordable healthcare accessible for all Minnesotans. My husband passed away last year. With his death,my income was cut in half, my bills were not. And due to the big beautiful bill, my insurance went from $460.00 a month to $1,379 a month. This is not acceptable. I would support single payer healthcare system. Other top priorities are working to make life more affordable, support good jobs, and strengthening public safety to improve the quality of life for the people in our communities.
Develop incentives that promote the return of commerce in rural communities. This could include employment credits, tax and energy credits, etc. for corporations willing to move into rural Minnesota.
We have current legislation that we need to enforce. It will take a combined effort from families, schools, workplaces, faith communities, local governments, and individuals. That is why communities also need schools, mentors, neighbors, and public institutions to model fairness, challenge stereotypes, and teach children to respect people of all races and ethnicities.
Yes, absolutely!! As a woman in my 60’s I have spent my entire life make less than my male colleagues. I had to work twice as hard to be considered half as good. No one should have to do this.
I support a Minnesota green-economy agenda built around 100% clean electricity, clean buildings, and clean transportation. And investments in research and development for newer, economically clean energy sources. All new technology would require in-depth vetting prior to implementation.
I would promote legislation that creates safe communities by funding law enforcement and first responders, expanding violence prevention and mental health crisis services, protecting victims, addressing addiction, holding serious offenders accountable, and investing in local solutions that prevent crime before it happens.
I support legislation that implement strict limits on individual and corporate contributions. Additionally, increases in campaign finance transparency, limits to special-interest influence, strengthens enforcement, and protects fair voting access so Minnesota elections reflect the voices of voters rather than the power of big money.
