By cutting wasteful corporate subsidies and focusing state resources on core community investments, we keep the West Metro competitive while protecting middle-class budgets.

As an Army veteran who swore an oath to defend the Constitution, I believe our state constitution should explicitly prohibit government discrimination against any individual based on race, sex, disability, or background. Minnesota holds nearly a fifth of North America’s fresh water—a strategic asset powering our economy, tourism, and communities. Protecting it requires trusting the science. Minnesota already maintains rigorous regulatory standards through professional state agencies like the MPCA and DNR. I support modernizing municipal water infrastructure, fighting invasive species in Lake Minnetonka, and relying on objective, evidence-based agency reviews so projects move forward safely.
Safe communities require fully resourced law enforcement and strong accountability. I support state funding for police recruitment, retention, and mental health response partnerships, ensuring departments are staffed with well-trained officers. We must enforce strict penalties for violent repeat offenders while backing practical, warrant-backed investigative tools. Public safety thrives when law enforcement has the resources and community trust necessary to protect our neighborhoods.
As an Independent unbossed by major party PACs, I see how big money dilutes voter influence. I do not support putting this Equal Rights Amendment on the ballot. Minnesota already bars discrimination in statute. This language is broad on purpose. It covers sex, pregnancy, gender, and sexual orientation. Courts, not voters, would spend a decade deciding what it requires on abortion, sports, and schools. I will not vote to hand the Minnesota Supreme Court another open-ended clause. If the Legislature wants a specific protection, write a statute and defend it.
Clean air and water start with enforcing the laws we already have, not with a new pile of unfunded mandates. I will vote to repeal Minnesota’s nuclear moratorium so the state can add firm, carbon-free electrical power instead of raising rates to hit a target. I’ll judge energy and environmental bills the same way: Does it work in January, and who pays? Families and employers should not fund the next slogan.
Safe communities start with police officers in the department and consequences for people who use violence. I will fund public safety so the money actually reaches Eden Prairie and Minnetonka police, not a Capitol press release. Hold repeat violent offenders accountable. Enforce the gun laws we have against people who already cannot have a firearm. Stopping fraud protects the budget that pays for that work.
