My top three priorities will be affordability, fighting fraud, and clean water. I will work to reduce mandates which caused property taxes to increase, make a flat car tab fee of $99 and cut gas taxes while keeping state spending responsible. I will support school safety and accountability for violent and repeat offenders. I will also continue fighting for safe drinking water and needed infrastructure, building on our work to secure $17.5 million for clean water.
Minnesota cannot control national inflation, but state government can stop adding to the cost of living. I will work to cut taxes and fees on high car-tab costs, gas prices and taxes on tips and overtime while restraining unnecessary spending, and making Minnesota more competitive for small businesses and job creators. Families should keep more of what they earn, and employers should have the stability to invest, rather than wondering what will stand in the way of everyone's success.
I would support policies that address disparities by improving literacy, workforce training, safe communities, housing supply, entrepreneurship and access to needed services. Government should enforce civil-rights laws and treat every person equally under the law. I favor targeting assistance based on need and measurable outcomes so help reaches people who need it and avoids fraud and program abuse.
I support equal rights and strong protections against discrimination, but I would not support placing the current proposal on the ballot as written. I am concerned its broad language could create conflicts involving parental rights, religious liberty, schools and existing law. Constitutional amendments should be clear, narrowly written and understood by voters before they are adopted.
Protecting clean drinking water is one of my highest priorities. I support science-based water standards, funding for PFAS testing and treatment, stronger groundwater monitoring, and holding responsible polluters accountable for cleanup rather than shifting the cost to families and cities that did not cause the contamination. I will also support practical conservation measures that protect clean air and water while keeping energy, housing and agriculture affordable.
I support adequately staffed and well-trained law enforcement, school safety funding, strong accountability for violent and repeat offenders, and better resources for victims. We should also improve access to mental-health and addiction treatment and give local communities flexibility to address their specific public-safety needs. Every part of public safety needs to work together to ensure our communities are strong.
Reforms should respect First Amendment rights while making it easier for voters to know who is supporting a position or candidate.
