Experience & Qualifications Forest Hills Coach, Parent of 3, Previous board experience, I care about this district and it's kids.
I am a parent of three children who are or have been students in the district. I have also been a yearlong host to two exchange students. I have progressed through each level of the district and still have a personal stake in the long-term success of the district.

Being an active parent, coupled with community leadership roles, has given me a foundation of how the schools operate, and how each student’s path is different.

My goal as a school board member would be to bridge my firsthand experience with the administrators to bring a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
We have a high performing school district. But it does not mean we cannot be better. We need to continue to make sure each student feels heard and respected; we need to make sure that we are all working together to make sure our children are prepared for life after High School.
My biggest issue is funding. We have declining enrollment, not just in Forest Hills, but across the state.

We have the unknown of the Education Freedom Tax Credit which will certainly lead to changes in funding.

We have a modest 2.5% increase in per pupil spending while inflation is well above that.

Items like these put the strain on the Superintendent’s office to make decisions based on best guesses.
Schools are already running on very tight budgets. I think it would be irresponsible of me to say what I would do without having more information and understanding of that budget.

I can say strongly that it is important our students have different opportunities. I do not believe an education is just sitting in class, an education includes sports, music, clubs, that combine for a rounded education. The opportunities outside of the classroom give students a chance to lead, face adversity, deal with conflict, all while being in a safe supervised environment.
