I bring 15 years of experience as a Del Valle ISD Trustee, including board leadership, TASB training, and extensive experience in public education governance, budgeting, and policy.
As an incumbent, I have helped make Del Valle ISD the highest-paying district in Region 13 while providing an average of $500 toward employee health benefits. We must continue investing in competitive compensation, benefits, professional growth, and a supportive environment where teachers feel valued and have the resources to succeed.
As an incumbent, I believe facility decisions must be guided by enrollment trends, financial realities, and long-term community needs. We must plan ahead for growth while maximizing existing facilities and making difficult decisions transparently, using data and community input to ensure every student has access to safe, effective learning environments.
My top priority is ensuring every student has the support and opportunities to succeed. As an incumbent, I helped establish clear board goals targeting specific student outcomes, which we monitor quarterly. We must continue focusing on strong instruction, early intervention, effective teachers, safe schools, and college and career pathways while using data to close achievement gaps.
As an incumbent, I have experience making tough decisions to balance our budget while protecting student learning. We have avoided school closures and massive layoffs by identifying efficiencies and planning ahead. Moving forward, we must focus on outcomes, evaluating every dollar based on whether it improves results for students while supporting our staff
