We should all feel and be safe in our communities, without mass surveillance. We should adopt laws and safeguard that are in keeping with the spirit, not just the letter, of the Constitution. Flock and similar programs are not. The road to public safety with personal liberty lies through economic opportunity, common sense safeguards (lights, safety officers, etc), and a strong sense of community!
We need to grow our roads and infrastructure before the people arrive, not after. That said, we cannot just spend money freely; there are real constraints: we still need to provide public services. We need to invest responsibly, and ensure our rate of growth is reasonable through targeted development approvals as we grow.
I am in general opposed to significant data center construction based on their current practices. However, I believe they CAN be welcome in our town IF they 1) use a closed loop water system, 2) bring their own electricity/pay the capex to expand the grid themselves, 3) do not take up massive space that could be better used, 4) pay their share of taxes, 5) provide high-pay permanent jobs
Through my 28 years as a Pflugerville resident, I've served on a hosts of area boards. Specific to Pflugerville, I've served on the ISD's Strategic Planning Committee & City's Charter Commission
I believe in wiring with our police department and fire department to better understand what are their to properties and issues. Equally, I want to hear from or citizens to know what's concerns they may have. I publicly supported and advocated for EMS to be returned to Pflugerville Fire Department instead of private Allegiant ambulance. I received many complaints about Allegiant.
As it relates to infrastructure, our streets need to accommodate the growth that we have. When businesses, suburban areas, and apartment complexes are built, the flow of traffic should be considered for existing traffic and new traffic. We're no longer a small City where country roads are sufficient. I would also like to improve the roads between Manor and Pflugerville to accommodate more traffic
As Technical Sales Representative at Dell, I helped customers to design their data centers. The notion that data centers are disproportionately using resources & taking them from our citizens is simply nonsense & very inaccurate. Water is barely used and each company wants to minimize electricity to reduce its costs. Data centers are doing great work "data is king" and bringing jobs to our city.

No initiative should come at the price of individual or collective civil liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. I promote policies that give people better options than committing crimes. Better jobs with better pay has been demonstrated to reduce crime and drug abuse. More affordable child care and family support services lead to a reduction in domestic abuse and other violence.
Every infrastructure project must clearly demonstrate how it will be paid for as well as how much of the burden will fall on the taxpayers. Strategic planning should be stewarded by credentialed experts, not just by those who might happen to hold a title. Short-term plans must fit as seemlessly as possible with identified long-term objectives. Projections should be realistic and based in facts.
I do not support data center development that infringes on the people or the environment. Any requests for data centers in my community must demonstrate through independent analysis the environmental and monetary impact on the residents. Data centers must not rely on drinking water for cooling and/or other operational usage. The noise must be properly mitigated, and the air quality must not suffer
