A little about me -
I am a proud resident of Bellaire!
I grew up just outside of town on Dunson Rd, and attended Bellaire Schools K-12.
After school I went into the US Air Force where I was a Law Enforcement Officer, after service while still in New Mexico, I met my wife Margie and we moved back to Michigan. In 2012 we moved back to my hometown to raise our children and enjoy everything Bellaire has to offer. I quickly became involved in coaching from little league baseball & pop-warner football, all the way up until my youngest was in 10th grade.
In 2015 we started Paddles & Pedals and have been a retail and adventure fixture in town ever since.
As well as being on the Village Council since 2018, I also volunteer as the President of the Chamber of Commerce and as Chair of The Friends of Glacial Hills.
For those of you that have not been to a village council meeting, my record is clear about my belief in being as fiscally responsible as possible with your tax dollars, while using those funds for the enrichment of our resident's quality of life, like the Craven Park ballfields redesign, Downtown Bathrooms & Pavillion, and most excitingly the Richardi Park Upgrades and Remodel which started last summer and are continuing now!
My first priority is to continue working with village staff to attract the best candidates for vacant positions to most effectively meet the needs of our residents.
The second issue I am already working to address is developing a thoughtful, balanced plan for short-term rentals—one that protects the quality of life for those who live and work in Bellaire while recognizing the important role tourism plays in our local economy and addressing the need for accessible housing.
Related to this issue, I look forward to working with our neighboring townships to develop a plan to attract more employment opportunities and housing solutions to Bellaire and the surrounding area.
