I am an Accredited Financial Counselor® with a BBA in Operations Management and a MS in School Counseling. I have two decades of experience in educational, military family, and community advocacy.
I'll advocate for manageable workloads and adequate state funding to support competitive pay. I would like to explore partnerships with universities and veteran and military spouse educator programs, since military families bring valuable experience and flexibility to the classroom. I would also support an initiative that helps paraprofessionals and LISD graduates become certified teachers.
I would rely on data driven enrollment projections, the long-range plan, and community feedback to plan proactively for uneven growth across the district. This would include promoting the district’s open transfer policy, exploring repurposing underused space, and engaging community partners to help generate revenue for the district.
My priorities are expanding early intervention services; ensuring equitable access to rigorous coursework like AP, dual credit, and Gifted and Talented programs; and strengthening postsecondary readiness through career exploration, CTE, and financial education. I would also focus on family engagement and attendance, since students learn best when supported both at school and at home.
I will promote policies that improve attendance and enrollment, since both impact student outcomes and funding. I will advocate with legislators to secure adequate state funding and support spending that directly benefits students and teachers. I will prioritize operational and fiscal efficiency and balanced campus utilization, while keeping the community updated on budget cuts and savings.
