I am an educator, serving for a decade as a secondary teacher and an instructional coach. I have my masters in education and completed my administrative license.

I founded and currently lead a nonprofit that focuses on supporting educators to remain in the profession and on building healthier adult cultures within our school environments.

In my current role, I have coached administrators from across the state, worked alongside of Superintendents in their efforts to support and retain their educators, and advocated in the halls of the legislature to improve supports for educators.

My background in literacy, curriculum, leadership, and culture shape how I collaborate and make decisions on the board.
Holland Public Schools is on the rise; facilities, engagement, and curriculum are all strengthening. But real gaps persist in outcomes for students of color and lower-income students, and closing them is our top challenge.

As a board member, I'd meet this by: ensuring administrators have the resources and time to do this work well, utilizing data to ensure we know what's actually working, and strengthening partnerships with community organizations that support students beyond the classroom.

Just as important is trust. Progress only sticks when families and educators believe the board is truly listening. I'd bring that posture—curious, transparent, and consistent—so our momentum lifts every student, not just some.
Relational trust between the school district and the community is key in whether a school will make any gains on school improvement goals.

If we truly care about outcomes for our students, then, we have to be willing to listen to, walk alongside of, and advocate for our community. We have to build trust by showing up, being as consistent as possible, and getting curious about others' perspectives and ideas.

As a parent of two current HPS students, I am already engaged in the community, but I want parents, guardians, and community members to feel comfortable asking questions or offering ideas. I might not know the answer or might not be able to concretely respond, but I will listen and make sure your voice is recognized in decisions.
