I am seeking election as Inland Township Trustee because I want to help the township plan ahead, protect the services residents rely on, and use tax dollars responsibly. I was appointed in May 2025 to fill a vacant trustee term and currently serve on the Township Board, Planning Commission, and Finance Committee.

My wife, Jennie, and I have called Inland Township home for nearly three years. Two of our four adult daughters and both of our grandchildren also live here, making this community truly home for our family.

I recently retired after 37 years with the Kellogg Company, where I worked on brands including Rice Krispies Treats and Cheez-It. That experience taught me the value of planning ahead, managing budgets, accountability, and delivering results.

I have served on a public school board and on nonprofit boards, including a school foundation and a humane society. I bring a commitment to transparent communication, practical problem-solving, and respectful public service. I believe good local government listens to residents, works collaboratively, and makes careful decisions that serve the community over the long term.
My top priorities are responsible financial planning, maintaining township assets and services, and clear communication with residents.

First, Inland Township should continue long-range financial and capital planning. The township is financially sound, but we must prevent township buildings, parks, fire services and equipment, township-owned land, and roads from becoming costly emergencies. I support regular updates to the five-year capital improvement plan, realistic budgets and reserves that protect taxpayers from sudden costs.

Second, we must maintain and modernize the public assets residents own: township buildings, parks, the fire station and equipment, township-owned land, and responsible road investment through our partnership with the County Road Commission. I support maintenance and targeted improvements before expanding government or pursuing projects without a clear public benefit.

Third, residents deserve clear, transparent information about township finances and decisions. I will continue using financial dashboards and plain-language reporting so residents can see where money comes from, where it goes, and how decisions are made. Good government is accountable, responsive, and focused on practical results.
