Clark County District Court Judge Eighth Judicial District Department 11

District Court Judges preside over major civil and criminal cases, including felony prosecutions, large civil disputes, family law matters, and constitutional challenges. These judges interpret and apply Nevada law, make decisions about sentencing, rule on the admissibility of evidence, and ensure that court proceedings follow due process. Because District Court judges shape how laws are enforced and how individual rights are protected, their decisions directly affect public safety, civil liberties, and access to justice. Although judicial races often receive less attention than other offices, these positions play a critical role in upholding the rule of law, ensuring fairness in the legal system, and maintaining public confidence in an independent judiciary.Note: This is a nonpartisan race. The designation only applies to the race, and does not reflect the political affiliations of the candidates.

Endorsements I don't have a lot because I don't have an opponent. But, I believe PLAN Nevada, Nevada Impact, Nevada Veterans' Caucus, and Western States Regional Council of Carpenters have all endorsed me.
I am currently the judge in this department and I have no opposition in this race. I believe that speaks to the job I am doing and have been doing since I was elected in 2022.

I am a mom, a wife, a lawyer, and a judge. My day-to-day schedule involves school drop off and then heading into work for anything from hearings to trials to legal or community events and/or preparation for any of those. I am comfortable with hard work and long busy days.

Prior to being a judge, I ran my own law office, represented more than a thousand clients, tried more than 50 cases, was a court-appointed arbitrator and short trial judge, and even did legal expert and consulting work.
I begin by reviewing the applicable law and rules. Even if I am already familiar with the law and rules, a review is often necessary to confirm any recent changes/updates. Then, I apply the law and rules to the facts presented to me.
Before any hearings or trials, I prepare. That preparation can be anything from reading and studying the law and briefs to meeting with staff and discussing expectations/procedures to checking tech/ensuring I have appropriate furniture in my courtroom to a variety of other things. I have had the opportunity to attend multiple trainings focused on creating better courtroom environments and am regularly implementing things I learn.

Litigants and counsel are treated with respect in courtroom. I allow counsel/litigants to be heard and make their arguments even if it means court runs long.

After considering arguments and written submissions, I make efforts to issue fair and clear decisions.
