I bring more than 12 years of judicial experience at both the Justice of the Peace and State District Court levels. I have more than 40 years of legal experience. I am Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law. I am rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell which is the highest level of professional excellence awarded for legal expertise and ethical standards.
This court was created in January of this year. I accepted over 3400 cases from the Justice of the Peace Pct 3 Place 1 and and immediately implemented procedures to review and determine the status of those cases some of which dated back to 2002. We have conducted daily dockets to close those cases which were no longer being pursued. We also held pre-trial conferences , set trial dates and created a docket control order in every case to provide for the orderly and prompt resolution of each case.
Throughout my judicial career I have remained steadfast in my commitment to protecting individual rights and safeguarding the well-being of Fort Bend County residents making these priorities the foundation of every decision I make. I ensure that each litigant has an opportunity to be heard and if necessary I elicit pertinent facts from the parties. Then, by applying the facts to the law in a fair and impartial way I make a determination that is in conformity with the law and fair and equitable.
I bring 15 plus years of legal experience handling civil, criminal, and family law matters and currently serve as an Associate Municipal Court Judge. As a former educator, attorney, small-business owner, and judge, I bring legal knowledge, courtroom experience, patience, fairness, and a commitment to treating every person with dignity and respect.
Justice Court is truly the people’s court and should be accessible, efficient, and easy to navigate. I would work to reduce delays, improve communication, and make procedures understandable. I would also explore innovative technology, including legal-access kiosks that connect people with legal resources and assistance, and consider evening or Saturday dockets to better serve the community.
My decision-making process will begin with listening. Justice Court is the people’s court, and everyone who appears before me—whether represented by an attorney or representing themselves—deserves to be heard and treated with dignity and respect. I will carefully consider the facts, evidence, and applicable law, remain impartial and open-minded, and make fair, consistent, and well-reasoned decisions based on each individual case.
