The purpose of the six-member Board of Trustees is to provide a means to pay for indigent care delivered by local hospitals and clinics. Each year the board adopts a millage rate that determines the amount of property tax levied on residents to fund this care in North Lake County. Each trustee serves a 4-year term.(Vote for One)

I've been a resident of Lake County for 55 years and have served as trustee for the North Lake Hospital District, Seat 4, for the past 4 years ( this is a voluntary position) I have served at The Christian Care Center, Leesburg, as a board member and chairman for 6 years. Providing oversight of financial cash flow and forecast needs, operational and staff review. I served under a local business as the Senior Manufacturer Product Manager and Product Specialist for 18 years, and currently own and operate my successful business as a local Realtor.

The data for the reimbursement cost are brought to our board meetings for review for the underinsured for North Lake County. A review of that data is also done by a 3rd-party audit provided by Forvis Mazars; they verify the outlays for indigent care. Review the budgets presented by Life Stream, St Lukes Medical, Community Medical Care, Advent Health Clinic, Leesburg UF Hospital, and Advent Health Waterman, then support the reimbursement of the funds spent in the prior year by each of these health care providers, and adjust the mill rate to accommodate those needs to support our underinsured local citizens who are under the 300 % poverty level.
( North Lake County uninsured population is 13 to 16.3% of those under the age of 62, as of July 2026 )
