I am a lifelong Tomball/Cypress area resident, a wife, a mother of three Tomball ISD students, and a Texas A&M-trained public health professional. I am a Christian, Conservative, and a Republican. I'm running to bring transparency, fiscal responsibility, great teachers, and safe campuses to every family in this District, because our children and their futures come first.
I hold a B.S. in Biomedical Science and an M.P.H. in Environmental and Occupational Health from Texas A&M, and served as an EHS Specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where safety and accountability were paramount. I've also worked in early childhood education and as a youth and family minister. As a mother of three Tomball ISD students, I bring firsthand insight and faith-driven integrity.
Tomball ISD's plan rightly prioritizes foundational literacy (science-of-reading), small class sizes (16:1), and retaining great teachers. The Board should protect class-reduction funding for high-need campuses, hold every campus accountable for real reading gains, expand parent voice through the Improvement Council, and ensure taxpayer dollars keep flowing to classrooms, not overhead.
Teachers face burdensome bureaucracy, disruptive classrooms, and pay that doesn't match their workload. The Board should prioritize competitive pay and retention incentives, cut non-instructional paperwork, back strong discipline policies that support classroom order, and give teachers a real voice in curriculum decisions, so our best educators are recruited, respected, and retained.
The biggest challenge is sustaining academic excellence and fiscal discipline amid growth and rising costs, while keeping every campus safe. I support conservative budgeting that prioritizes classrooms over administration, strong law-enforcement partnerships and clear emergency plans on every campus, and policies that keep parents informed and involved in every major decision.
Preparing future citizens means teaching civics, American history, and the founding principles that make self-government possible, not political activism. The Board should ensure a rigorous, honest civics curriculum, encourage respectful debate of ideas, and partner with parents so students graduate understanding their rights, responsibilities, and the value of our republic.
With my faith, family, and friends, I believe that anything is possible. I am the father of two wonderful graduates of Tomball ISD who are now experiencing life in college. This fall my wife and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to serve and learn from others throughout my life to help me continue to grow in knowledge and wisdom.
I have over 20 combined years of service and leadership on governance boards (Kinsmen Lutheran Church. Lutherhill Ministries, American Society of Civil Engineers - Houston Branch & Texas Section). I have a long record of service to my community and school (Junior Achievement, Watch Dog program, Tomball Education Foundation, Heatherwood Hurricanes Swim Team).
High quality curriculum and instruction are key to improving student outcomes. Tomball ISD is an A-rated school district for the 7th year in a row and we still have opportunities to improve our approach to further support our students. The Board's role is to set goals that drive excellence, continually monitor progress, ask questions, and ensure resources are made available to achieve success.
Across the profession, teachers are challenged with increased responsibilities and distractions that lead to burnout and fatigue. As a Board, we need to make sure we are listening and understanding the realities that teachers face in the classroom and ensure they have the resources, support, trust, and leadership necessary to help every student succeed.
The biggest challenge facing the District is that funding from the state has not kept up with the cost of educating our students and they are now allocating money to support private education that does not have to follow the same rules that public education is under. Competition is healthy but only when both sides are playing under the same rules. Greater advocacy is sorely needed.
I, along with Tomball ISD and the other Trustees on our Board, are strongly committed to developing students of character, leadership, and high expectations. We strive to build up students that are ready to pursue military, college, and career opportunities upon graduation. The Board evaluates and guides our District to make sure it is aligned with producing high student outcomes.
