I have served as a substitute teacher in Tomball ISD and Spring ISD, a classroom teacher in Spring ISD, an assistant principal in Tomball ISD, and a professor of education at Lone Star College. If elected, I will be the only TISD Trustee on the current Board who has worked as a Texas classroom teacher or campus administrator. I am also the only candidate with a master’s degree in education.
First, increased transparency with the public.I would advocate for the return of the online searchable check register, limiting restrictions on public comments, and reducing pushback on public information requests.Second, increased fiscal responsibility and accountability, such as having safeguards in place to guard against theft of taxpayer funds and fraud, waste, and abuse of district resources.
Safety in classrooms, administrative support when students become disruptive, and campus administration should be fierce protectors of teachers' instructional time. The Board can make it clear that this is something that will be included in the superintendent's evaluation.
Rapid growth can lead to issues related to boundary realignments, capacity crunches, constant facility expansion, and operational bottlenecks. Proactive planning and open communication with the community and district employees are some ways to support everyone working together to meet these challenges.
The Board can make it clear to the superintendent that it is an expectation that social studies instruction should not be sacrificed in favor of preparing for state-mandated testing in other subjects. Also, when hiring social studies teachers, their content knowledge should take priority over secondary skills such as their abilities to support extracurricular activities.

I believe in our students and community. As a longtime trustee, graduate of Tomball, father of 3 Tomball graduates and grandfather of 6 children in the District, I bring proven, positive leadership. I’m committed to exceptional education, student achievement, community values, safety, and responsible fiscal management while protecting and strengthening the quality of education our families expect.
I bring 26 yrs of school board experience, including 5 years as board president, working with 20 different fellow trustees and hiring 2 superintendents. As a graduate, parent and longtime community member, I understand our schools firsthand. My professional experience as an attorney, CEO, corporate Director, and budget manager provides sound judgment, proven leadership, and fiscal responsibility.
The DWIP is aligned with Strategic Plan 2030, wherein one goal is to empower students with the knowledge necessary to be responsible, ethical digital citizens while navigating the digital world. The digital world is ever-evolving, resulting in ever-changing opportunities. Full Board support for this goal will help our students not only be successful but ethical in the digital world.
Classroom discipline, time-consuming non-instructional duties, and competitive compensation. The Board must work closely with the superintendent to provide stronger classroom management support, streamline or otherwise support non-instructional demands, continue meaningful professional development, and find innovative ways to enhance teacher compensation.
The District’s greatest challenge will be managing continued growth while navigating an uncertain and changing state funding system. I will support long-term fiscal planning, responsible budgeting, and strong communication/advocacy with state and local legislators to ensure resources are used efficiently and our District remains financially sound.
Civics is embedded in the curriculum. The District’s Mission is to develop impactful, contributing citizens, with a goal to provide a comprehensive character education framework that develops contributing citizens and leaders. The Board also supports the LWV voter registration drives at campuses and use of the America250 celebration to encourage informed, active participation in our democracy.
