Provide basic health care access at the school level starting with universal free preschool from age 3 until grade 12. Extend this to the primary care giver of the child, primarily the mother. Next, focus on preventing all abuse towards women and children to reduce mental and physical injury at the root instead of constantly paying to treat the damaging symptoms later. Expand slowly outward to all neighbors. Possibly link funding to out of state tourists, employees, corporations not paying their share with an income and sales tax system where locals receive a full rebate.

Issue every Alaska citizen a free valid voter ID so voter participation is not based on income. Tax all campaign donations at 90% distributing the wealth to improving the entire election system such as poll worker pay, better security, improved access, balanced candidate access to voters, etc. Declare election day a state citizenship holiday so that every worker can vote. Enhance our rural mail system during election season to guarantee correct post marking for mail in ballots.
Never provide the federal government access to our personal data under any circumstances. If provided, then imprison those doing it for life because our privacy can never be regained plus fine them for each person’s data that was shared.
Women & Children First! Alaska ranks among the worst for Rape, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Child Well-Being every decade. Every second Alaskan woman does not need to be raped or assaulted because we do not care. Our child well-being rank is 47th nationally which is pathetic. We do not need decades more lost generations of students cheated from achieving their potential while Alaska declines because of finger pointing and short-term greed.
I propose we link the PFD payments to our treatment of women and children. If we do not improve, then nobody gets a PFD

Third, require term limits and remove the unfair advantages incumbents use to retain power such as rolling over their donations after an election and raising money during a session. Linked to this I believe elected officials have been hired to do a job with full transparency to all constituents. This should include providing a 40 hour/week public accounting of work done in order to be paid.

Maintaining and expanding access to Medicaid is vital; our vulnerable children and families rely on this program for healthcare, and I will support and introduce legislation to the House to protect these funds and the access to them. The other side of healthcare access is having the skilled caregivers and facilities in our Alaskan communities for residents to use. We know that sending people out of state for healthcare is burdensome and costly for patients, families, and employers. I will support legislation that is focused on attracting and retaining healthcare professionals by buiding programs and infrastructure that create excellent career pathways in healthcare.
I can't pretend to know the single solution to this complex problem. What I can do is focus on long-term planning in each of these areas. We know that childcare is best when subsidized; wages that parents are earning are not enough to pay the increasing costs of childcare, yet the facilities cannot run on less. Gaining and maintaining Federal funds to support childcare is logical. Housing, energy, and grocery prices are complex issues that deserve to be modeled and planned for. We need legislation that systematically encourages the development of affordable housing, expands Alaska's food sovereignty, and thoughtfully plans out the short and long term extraction of energy resources while diversifying energy infrastructure.
Administering elections is a state responsibility, and I am opposed to a federal system that attempts to override state control of elections. I will oppose any attempt for federal overreach and instead focus on ensuring that Alaska has appropriate, strong state election laws and that the budget funds the Division of Elections sufficiently to perform highly secure and transparent election activities.
People can't afford to stay in Alaska, especially while their neighborhood school is at risk of closure. It is getting harder for regular working families to get by each month. I would work for stable school funding by addressing the timing disconnect of the district budgeting and state fund allocations. Tackling the cost of living means creating a thorough strategy to lower energy costs, build affordable housing, and protecting and nourishing Alaska's local food resources. In the House, budgeting and legislation are the main tools that I could use to achieve that. I would bring thoughtful, holistic planning to the solution.
Firstly, I would champion and protect election systems that allow cooperative, bipartisan governments to function, like Ranked Choice Voting. This is a system that prevents ideological extremes from gaining toxic control even without majority support. Secondly, I would defend the press and local journalism in order to maintain transparent access to news and facts. This might mean expanded tax credits or benefits for local media organizations and also ensuring quality civic education from our schools. Thirdly, I would act to counter Citizens United and get dark money out of Alaska so that the voices of our residents are loudest in our politics.
