Growing up in a working-class family that faced bankruptcy and lost our home, I know the sting of economic vulnerability. Justice isn't abstract to me—it’s personal. As a former public school teacher, Obama DOJ attorney, federal whistleblower, and ACLU-DE Legal Director, I’ve spent my life fighting for ordinary people. Delawareans deserve an independent Attorney General who challenges the political status quo, stands up to corporate greed, and holds the powerful accountable. Justice is a relay race, and it’s time to pass the torch to a new generation of leadership that actively protects every community in our state.
I bring a distinct mix of frontline civil rights, federal government, and private legal experience. I served in the Obama DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, blew the whistle on Betsy DeVos's Department of Education, led education equity litigation for the ACLU, and served as Vice Chair of the State Human & Civil Rights Commission. Unlike candidates embedded in the traditional political machine, I am unburdened by the "Delaware Way" status quo. I’ll be an independent AG who isn't afraid to sue predatory corporations, challenge institutional wrongdoing, or proactively lead national battles for our rights.
Unlike most states, Delaware’s AG possesses unified, broad jurisdiction—overseeing all criminal prosecutions statewide, serving as chief civil counsel, and protecting consumer rights. I will leverage this complete mandate to serve working families. Corporate & Civil Enforcement: Prosecute wage theft, predatory lending, and corporate price-fixing. Government Accountability: Provide independent oversight of state agencies, schools, and local governments to end cronyism. Proactive Civil Rights Guard: Defend reproductive care, voting access, and LGBTQ+ equality. The Delaware DOJ serves best when it acts as a proactive guardian across both civil and criminal arenas, not just a passive administrator of the status quo.
Incarceration should be a last resort, not a default. I support pre-indictment diversion programs routing low-level offenders to treatment rather than prison, ending wealth-based bail, and expanding specialized problem-solving courts statewide.
Crucially, we must address those already trapped in the system. Building on my work with the Dignity Rights Clinic to make compassionate release a reality in Delaware, I will advocate for streamlined medical and elderly parole for infirm, non-violent incarcerated individuals. True justice prioritizes rehabilitation, human dignity, and lowering recidivism over endless detention.
Combating gun violence requires a comprehensive strategy addressing both root causes and illegal firearms. I will strictly enforce Delaware’s gun safety laws—including red flag laws, banned assault weapons, and ghost gun prohibitions—while aggressively prosecuting illegal firearm traffickers and straw purchasers. Crucially, we must invest heavily in community-led violence intervention programs (CVI) and hospital-based intervention models that interrupt cycles of retaliation before violence occurs. We must treat gun violence as the public health crisis it is.

I've served on the boards of the Delaware Center for Justice, the Wilmington HOPE Commission, and Justin's Beach House.
I became a lawyer to fight for justice, first as a DOJ prosecutor and now as AG. We’ve made Delaware safer, protected voting and abortion rights, and built the strongest anti-corruption and corporate accountability records in the DOJ’s history, and been a critical defense against federal overreach. We’ve fought important battles—but today, we face new threats, including a violent anti-immigrant agenda and a lawless president. I’m running for a final term because we cannot afford to lose these fights, nor to teach on the job. We need experienced, proven leadership to continue this vital work.
I am the only candidate with deep experience in the Delaware DOJ, where I served as Chief Deputy Attorney General, State Prosecutor, and AG. I am the only candidate who has prosecuted a signal crime, who has managed a large staff, who has worked law enforcement, or who has beaten the president in court. Over the last 8 years, we’ve secured record corporate settlements, brought violent crime to record lows, and passed landmark criminal justice reforms that reduced recidivism and the prison population. It’s easy to criticize problems. I solve them, and get real, tangible results for Delawareans.
The DOJ’s priorities remain public safety, criminal justice reform, police accountability, and corporate oversight. Under my leadership, we’ve achieved record lows in violent crime and passed landmark gun safety, criminal justice reform, and police reform legislation. We have also secured over $1 billion through federal litigation and record corporate settlements. Moving forward, we must protect that progress and hold the line against federal overreach and authoritarianism.
I have championed diversion for those needing treatment over punishment. My approach includes supporting law-enforcement-assisted diversion (LEAD), prosecutorial discretion, and specialized courts like Mental Health Court. We emphasize probation for non-violent offenders, minimize financial penalties for those who cannot pay, and focus our resources on violent crime. These reforms have helped reduce Delaware’s prison population by 25% and long-term re-incarceration by 60%, while violent crime has hit record lows. We are shifting the focus from mass incarceration to rehabilitation, ensuring prison is reserved for the most serious offenses, especially gun crimes.
Guns are the leading cause of death for kids and teens, and we are committed to evidence-based solutions. I have fought for permit-to-purchase policies and landmark reforms like the Keshall Anderson Safe Firearms Sales Act. Beyond legislation, I have prioritized enforcement by bringing together state, local, and federal officials to leverage shared intelligence and crime gun tracing. We’re holding bad actors in the gun industry accountable through consumer protection authority and relentlessly pursuing violent gangs. Going forward we have to expand Delaware’s toolkit to investigate gun traffickers, especially as the ATF faces partisan erosion.

Delawareans motivate me to seek the Office of Attorney General. In my lifetime, I have proven to be an advocate first. I believe that right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter who you are or who you know. I have encountered thousands of people with stories just like mine, confiding in me about their experience with Delaware's Justice System and how it failed them & their families. Every human, every American & every Delawarean deserves justice; our nation was built on Liberty and Justice FOR ALL, not for some or for certain people that the government deems worthy. Our system is broken. Our communities are broken. Our families are broken and Delawareans are suffering as a result. As Attorney General, I will work for the PEOPLE of DE 1st!
As an owner of an Accounts Receivable company, I was able to stand to-to-toe with a team of 7 experienced attorneys in Court, pro se, and won a $1.3 million settlement for my client through tactful communication and my unequivocal evidence. I am an advocate with over 500+ hours of experience working with survivors of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Abuse. What I am most proud of is that I was the only survivor to fight in Legislative Hall for SB 17 to support victims and their rights. As Attorney General, I will continue advocating and inciting change for all Delawareans and doing so while respecting all that I encounter.
The priority of the Office of Attorney General should always be safety FIRST. The Attorney General should concern themselves with the concerns of Delawareans first, as opposed to Federal and International concerns. As the next Attorney General, I will listen to citizens; no one is insignificant and everyone deserves an opportunity to voice their concerns. I will keep Delawareans safe from crime, whether violent crimes, financial crimes or exploitation crimes. I will prioritize that facts matter in our Justice System and that the truth through evidence will always prevail. I will hold Politicians, Judges, Attorneys, Law Enforcement and Citizens accountable in accordance with the Law and regardless of their background, contacts or status.
Incarceration is one solution to violent criminal behavior; it is not the end-all, be-all and is not appropriate for every situation. I believe in meeting people where they are. Criminals can be prosecuted and still be supported, so that when appropriate, they have resources to help them succeed. I intend to take a deeper dive into this problem and bring humanity back into the Delaware Justice System. If you treat a person like an animal, overtime, that is how they will behave. Everyone has a story and pain points. Everyone deserves the opportunity to heal. I intend to work with law enforcement and mental health professionals to create a program for for first-time offenders of certain crimes to rehabilitate and support these citizens.
As Delaware's next Attorney General, I would prioritize holding criminals accountable for the crimes they have been proven to commit. In our current climate, violent, habitual offenders are too often released (sometimes repeatedly) without so much as a slap on the wrist, putting Delawareans in danger. Law-abiding citizens deserve to have their Constitutional Rights protected, dangerous criminals will be held accountable, and only when appropriate, rehabilitated and supported, and our youth desperately needs boots-on-the-ground mentors and role models that can help them unlock their fullest potential, free from a life of violence. Delawareans deserve and have the right to safety. This should ALWAYS be the Attorney General's #1 priority.
