Animal Shelter Millage RenewalShall the current 2025 levy of .5000 mills (.5000 cents per $1,000.00) on taxable value of property under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Luce County, Michigan be renewed for a period of five (5) years, 2028, 2029, 2030, 2031,2032 inclusive, to provide funds for the continued operations of the Luce County Animal Shelter located at 7351 Co Rd 391, for the purpose of protecting and improving the health, safety and welfare of the County occupants and guests. It is estimated that a .5000 mill would raise approximately $118,868.00 when levied in 2028, which would be an estimated twenty dollars ($20.00) per year for an average home with a taxable value of forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) in the County.
