Albion District Library Library Millage Renewal ProposalShall the Albion District Library, County of Calhoun, be authorized to levy a millage annually in an amount not to exceed 2.4777 mills ($2.4777 per $1,000 of taxable value), which is a renewal of the millage rate that expires in 2026, against all taxable property within the Albion District Library district for a period of ten (10) years, 2027 through 2036, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for all district library purposes authorized by law?The estimate of the revenue the Albion District Library will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the Albion District Library in the first year (2027) is approximately $750,000. To the extent required by law, a portion of the revenues from this millage will be captured within the district and disbursed to the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority of the City of Albion. Pursuant to an agreement, 25% of the millage revenues received from the portion of the District Library district located in Albion Township will be disbursed to the Homer Public Library.
