Ensuring the security of American elections is of the utmost importance. Therefore, I vehemently oppose the SAVE America Act as it is merely a means to disenfranchise voters. Under this bill, a driver’s license would no longer be a valid form of identification, instead it would require citizens to show their birth certificate or passport. Passport application fees create a substantial financial hurdle for many citizens, effectively making this bill a modern-day poll tax. In addition, the SAVE Act disproportionately affects women whose current last name does not match their maiden name on their birth certificate. The SAVE Act is an unnecessary barrier to voter participation that is not actually focused on preserving electoral integrity.
ICE should not receive federal funding until the abuses of the institution have been addressed. Under this administration, we have seen nothing but aggression and brutality from ICE agents and a refusal to cooperate with Congressional oversight. The American people cannot be subjected to this cruelty. I am a co-sponsor of the ICE Visibility Act, requiring ICE officers to wear clearly identifiable uniforms to increase transparency and prevent the masking of their lawlessness. I am opposed to the expansion of ICE facilities, especially the proposed construction of those in Hanover and Stafford County Virginia. These facilities do not promote public safety, rather they undermine trust between law enforcement and the public.
First and foremost, we must overturn Citizens United. Without restrictions on political spending by corporations, wealthy special interests have overpowered the voice of the American people by dictating the outcome of our elections. Dark money has no place in our political system, which is why I have proudly co-sponsored House Joint Resolution 13 to overturn that disastrous decision. We must also pass the For the People Act, which would strengthen campaign finance laws, increase transparency, and help restore faith in our democracy. Our elections should be decided by voters, not by billionaires or special interests, because money is not speech.
Healthcare is a basic human right, yet medical bills remain a leading cause of bankruptcies in the United States. We must expand healthcare access and reduce the cost for American families by protecting the Affordable Care Act, lowering prescription drug prices, and ensuring a public health insurance option is available to all Americans. I helped introduce the Choose Medicare Act, which would grant every individual who is not already eligible the choice to enroll in a new Medicare program. Additionally, I have introduced the National All-Payer Claims Database Act to establish a comprehensive database of healthcare costs. By increasing transparency, we can effectively lower healthcare costs and improve support across our healthcare system.
While the Supreme Court is a necessary check on executive and legislative power, the institution is deeply flawed and is in need of reform. First, justices must adhere to stricter ethics rules. The series of ethics violations regarding financial disclosures and conflicts of interest is inexcusable from our highest public officials. Additionally, I am sponsoring the Supreme Court Term Limits and Regular Appointments Act. This legislation would establish an 18-year term limit for future justices. While current justices are exempt, this bill would create a uniform process, allowing every president to nominate two justices per term. These reforms are essential to restoring the public trust in our institutions that the current court has broken.
If reelected, I remain deeply committed to advocating for the development of fusion energy. I am the founder of the Congressional Fusion Energy Caucus and have introduced numerous pieces of legislation to lead the push for commercializing fusion power. Our reliance on fossil fuels has destroyed our environment. Fusion energy offers an alternative clean energy source, through which we can reverse climate change, ensuring a more sustainable future. Additionally, as a leading member of Congress on artificial intelligence, I am focused on the threats AI poses to data privacy, its environmental impacts, further job displacement, and the broader existential risk. It is critical that we address these challenges through thoughtful regulation.

I reject the false choice between election security and voting rights. We can have both.I am concerned that the bill would create new barriers for eligible voters, including military families, seniors, young voters, and married women whose legal names may differ from their birth certificates. Millions of Americans do not have immediate access to a passport or birth certificate
I support secure elections, accurate voter rolls, paper ballot backups, risk-limiting audits, and protection against foreign interference. But I do not support legislation that could make it harder for lawful Virginians to register and vote.
My approach is simple: protect democracy by ensuring that eligible citizens can vote and that every legitimate vote is counted.
Congress must use its power of the purse to ensure ICE and CBP operate with full accountability, transparency, and respect for constitutional and human rights. I oppose unchecked expansion of immigration detention and am concerned about documented abuses, lack of due process, and the overreliance on incarceration as a default tool. Funding should be conditioned on strict oversight, independent inspections, and enforceable standards for humane treatment. I support reducing detention, ending reliance on private detention facilities, and expanding community-based alternatives. Enforcement should be narrowly focused on genuine public safety threats, not broad, punitive practices that separate families and harm communities. Congress must demand
I would support reforms that reduce the influence of big money in politics and increase transparency for voters. Congress should require full disclosure of all political spending, including “dark money” groups and online ads, so voters know who is trying to influence elections. I support strengthening the FEC so it can enforce laws without partisan gridlock. I also support small-donor public financing systems that match grassroots contributions, helping ordinary people compete with wealthy donors and corporate PACs. In addition, we should tighten rules to prevent coordination between campaigns and outside groups and improve transparency in digital political advertising. These changes would make campaigns more fair, accountable, and focused.
I would prioritize shifting federal funding to directly reduce costs for families and strengthen basic security. I support strengthening the Affordable Care Act, closing Medicaid coverage gaps, and lowering prescription drug costs through Medicare negotiation. I would expand childcare support, the Child Tax Credit, and the Earned Income Tax Credit to ease financial pressure on working families. I would also increase investment in affordable housing, including Housing Choice Vouchers and incentives to build more housing supply. Finally, I would prioritize infrastructure and public transit that reduce household costs and improve access to jobs, while redirecting inefficient spending toward programs that directly benefit working families.
I support comprehensive Supreme Court reform to restore public trust, strengthen accountability, and ensure the Court reflects democratic legitimacy. First, I support establishing 18-year staggered term limits for Supreme Court Justices so no single appointment shapes the Court for generations and to reduce hyper-partisan confirmation battles.
Second, I support expanding the Court to 13 justices through congressional action to address current structural imbalance and stabilize jurisprudence after recent politicized shifts. Expansion, paired with reforms, would help restore equilibrium and public confidence in the institution.
Third, I support a binding, enforceable Supreme Court ethics code, including clear rules on disclosure, recusal, and conflicts of interest. No justice should be above ethical accountability.
Finally, I support strengthening impeachment standards and procedures for justices in cases of serious misconduct, corruption, or abuse of power, ensuring consequences.
If elected, my priorities will focus on lowering costs and strengthening accountability in government for VA-08. I will work to expand affordable housing, protect renters, and invest in transportation and WMATA to improve regional mobility. Will defend federal workers’ pay, benefits, and job security, which are central to our local economy.
I will prioritize protecting and expanding healthcare access, including Medicaid and Medicare, lowering prescription drug costs, and improving mental health services.

I oppose the SAVE Act. Election administration should remain primarily a state and local responsibility, with the federal government setting baseline security standards and supporting—not supplanting—local officials. Noncitizen voting in federal elections is already illegal and exceedingly rare. This bill solves a problem that largely doesn't exist while creating new barriers for eligible voters, including married women whose names may not match their birth certificates and lower-income Americans who may not have easy access to required documents. My priorities are paper ballot backups, post-election audits, protecting election workers from threats, and strengthening our defenses against foreign interference.
I support replacing ICE with a new agency focused on border security, transnational crime, and immigration enforcement while prioritizing constitutional rights, due process, and human dignity. Congress must provide robust oversight of ICE and CBP facilities, including regular inspections, transparency requirements, and accountability for misconduct. Resources should focus on combating human trafficking, organized crime, and fentanyl smuggling rather than indiscriminate enforcement actions that separate families or undermine due process. We also need comprehensive immigration reform that modernizes legal pathways and reduces backlogs.
I support banning corporate PAC contributions to members of Congress, requiring full transparency for political spending, and strengthening enforcement against dark money. Members of Congress should not spend hours every week raising money from special interests while making decisions that affect the public. I also support public financing options for small-dollar donors and a ban on members of Congress owning or trading individual stocks while in office. Our democracy works best when elected officials answer to voters, not donors.
Working families are being squeezed by rising housing, childcare, healthcare, and consumer debt costs. As a father of two young children, I understand these pressures firsthand. I would prioritize investments that lower costs, including affordable housing, childcare assistance, and protections against predatory lending. I support strengthening the Affordable Care Act, lowering prescription drug prices, expanding access to mental health care, and capping excessive credit card interest rates. We should also invest in rebuilding the middle class through workforce development, support for small businesses, and reinstating federal employees and contractors who are critical to our local economy.
Public confidence in the Supreme Court has declined, and reforms are needed to restore trust. I support a binding and enforceable ethics code for Supreme Court justices, stronger financial disclosure requirements, clear recusal standards for conflicts of interest, and greater transparency regarding gifts and outside relationships. I am also open to establishing term limits for future justices through constitutional means. Regardless of ideology, Americans deserve a Court that is independent, accountable, and trusted to apply the law fairly.
My campaign is built around three priorities: resist, rebuild, and reform. I will resist efforts that weaken democratic institutions and attack the federal workforce. I will rebuild the middle class by reinstating federal employees and contractors, supporting small businesses, expanding affordable housing, speeding up student loan forgiveness, and doubling the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. And I will reform Washington through campaign finance reform, a ban on congressional stock trading, and term limits. As a father of two young boys and a former State Department employee who lost his job during the recent workforce cuts, I understand how decisions made in Washington affect families here in Northern Virginia.
