Shall the Rogers City Area Fire Department Authority levy an ad valorem tax of not more than 1 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000.00 of taxable value) against all taxable property within the limits of the Rogers City Area Fire Department Authority, consisting of Rogers City, Rogers Township, Bismarck Township, Belknap Township, and Moltke Township, for the purpose of providing funds for capital purposes, including the acquisition, replacement, and improvement of fire trucks, emergency vehicles, equipment, facilities, and other capital assets for the provision of fire protection and emergency services, as authorized by MCL 124.612, and shall the Authority levy such millage for said purpose for the years 2026 through 2033, inclusive, being 8 years, beginning with the tax levy on 12/01/2026 and ending with the tax levy on 12/01/2033?It is estimated that 1 mill would generate revenue in the amount of $319,009.42 in the first year.The proposed millage is a new additional millage.Note: If approved and levied, in accordance with State law, a portion of this millage collected on certain properties lying within the established Downtown Development District of the City of Rogers City will be captured by or disbursed to the Rogers City Downtown Development Authority for authorized purposes. The amount of such capture is estimated to be approximately $4,533.00 in the first year of the levy.
