OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSITION FOR ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES FOR OLDER PERSON
Shall the limitations on the amount of taxes which shall be assessed against all property both real and personal in Alpena County, Michigan be renewed as provided by Public Act 39 of 1976 (Activities and Service for Older Persons), and the Alpena County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy a tax (renewal) not to exceed 0.55 of one (1) mill ($0.55 on each $1,000.00 of Equalized State Taxable Value) for a period of four (4) years starting with the Levy made December 1, 2026 for the sole purpose of providing "Activities and Services" for Older Persons in Alpena County, (individuals 60 years of age or older for social, health, educational, nutritional, recreational, and senior facility improvements and mobility services). (The estimate of revenue the County of Alpena will collect if the millage is approved and levied in the first year (2026) is $694,352).
