Am the best candidate for Mayor, because, this P/T position deserves a F/T commitment. I have the time. I’ve been tried, tested and proven over 20 plus years living in Brooklyn Park. And, despite any odds, adversity, or challenges faced. I have boldly, bravely, courageously, intentionally, on purpose, and with purpose stood with, for, and by our residents. I will seek a unified voice in concert to navigate us a united pathway forward in harmony with the largest expanded demographically mixed community in the region in the past 30 plus years. Because its God’s way and the right thing to do. Focusing on a united community, coming together, building together, and working together to create a city blueprint other municipalities will follow.
If elected. My top three priorities will be as follows; 1. Public safety and rebuilding public trust. Restoring respect, honor and value to the residents, mayor and council by ridding our city of nonconforming city staff and contractors 2. Stabilizing property taxes by thoroughly reviewing the budget, spending, and cutting wasteful spending and eliminating non performing positions. 3. Building, rebuilding, inviting, restoring economic growth and sustainability for generation and generations.
If elected. I will immediately introduce and reinforce basic and practical common-sense job performance strategies. Like quarterly evaluations to measure transparency, accountability, and performance outcomes of each city staff, department heads, and contractors. I will remove the DEI position from under the city managers oversight and promptly put this department under the mayor or the mayor and city council. Also establish an ethics commission comprised of diverse resident of each district.
I will intentionally, on purpose, and with purpose engage and solicit residents feedback creatively in multiple ways to reach our deserving diverse residents, via; 1. hosting my weekly mayors podcast, 2. Mayors word (perspective) a section that will be included in the monthly city newsletter, and 3. by holding an in person monthly or bimonthly mayors town hall, to ensure I’ve created multiple platforms for residents to engage, speak, and be heard. And me to listen, hear, and learn their concerns
I will intentionally on purpose and with purpose approach public safety and community policing by implementing the proven crime reduction Greenlight project along with my SPR (Safe Protected Respected) Blueprint for proactively engaging our community and police to build community trust and respect. And implement my YPBI (Youth Prevention Before Intervention) initiative that focuses on youth involvement and engagement through volunteering and supervised after-school and out-of-school time program
