My goal as a legislator will be to have great communication with a coalition of constituents who I may be able to lean on when legislation that is intended to improve the quality of life in my district gets proposed. Constituents can be certain I am not voting on things based on my own agenda, but with that of a carefully curated council of individuals who support good government in our district.
I believe we can make life better for residents and work to make it affordable. I think some of the billing mandates could be sunsetted, after careful review of the MassSave program, perhaps there can be a way to cut spending and funnel the money back to residents. Massachusetts had to find a middle ground politically on the environment to make this possible.
This is a perennial problem that I would encourage the Auditor to first address with a full audit of our public healthcare benefit system. If we root out waste and fraud first, we can begin to address the root causes of the massive budgets in healthcare.
The state needs to revisit the local government funding formula that hasn't been updated since 2008. Adjusting these formulas along with exposing and stopping fraud, waste and abuse of resources will ultimately lead to an increase in funding for the 351 citites and towns.
I support the Federal Save Act and believe showing a state issued ID is a small price to pay for securing elections across the commonwealth and beyond. As an election commissioner in NB for a decade I assure you its not too big an ask. Most citizens carry an ID everyday.
The legal rights of immigrants are covered by the same laws that govern US citizens.

Illegal immigrants is a separate matter and should be adjudicated based their individual circumstances. Are they seeking asylum, escaping tyranny, or coming here for nefarious reasons? We must understand that ignoring Federal immigration law is a crime and should be punished accordingly.
