1) With 40 years as a public educator, including 38 in the Hazelwood School District, I'm passionate about securing high-quality education for all children. 2) Raised in a union household, I'm a lifelong advocate for labor rights, inspired by my father's role cofounding a locomotive engineers' union. 3) I am committed to toxic waste remediation and reproductive rights.
My primary legislative goal is strengthening public education to ensure student opportunity. I plan to overhaul Missouri's standardized testing, moving toward a holistic framework that values local priorities, the arts, physical health and community engagement over single scores.
