Kalkaska County - Bear Lake Township Fire-Rescue Millage Renewal

This proposal will renew the expired previously voted millage which permitted the Township to levy up to 2.5 mills for the purpose of providing funds for the operation of the Township's fire department, including its rescue services; the repair and maintenance of fire-rescue equipment; and the purchase of fire-rescue equipment, including the purchase of fire and/or rescue vehicles and equipment.Shall the expired previously voted increase on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the Township of Bear Lake, Kalkaska County, Michigan, against taxable property in the Township of 2.5 mills ($2.50 per $1,000 of taxable value), reduced to 2.4252 mills ($2.4252 per $1,000 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 2.50 mills ($2.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for a period four (4) years, 2026 through 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the operational of the Township's fire department, including its rescue services; the repair and maintenance of fire-rescue equipment; and the purchase of fire-rescue equipment, including the purchase of fire and/or rescue vehicles and equipment, and shall the Township levy such millage for these purchases? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $238,279.00 for the Township when first levied in 2026.
