Kalkaska County - Bear Lake Township Community Center Millage
This proposal would permit the Township to levy up to .5 mills for the purpose of providing funds for the maintenance and improvements of the Township's community center, including building grounds maintenance; insulation for the building; new ceilings for the building; remodeling of the bathrooms (providing handicap accessibility); adding air conditioning to the building; repair and replacing Township equipment within the community center; and sealing and repairing the parking lot.Shall the limitation on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the Township of Bear Lake, Kalkaska County, Michigan, against taxable property in the Township be increased by up to .5 mills ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 4 years, 2026 to 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the maintenance and improvements of the Township's community center, including building grounds maintenance; insulation for the building; new ceilings for the building; remodeling of the bathrooms (providing handicap accessibility); adding air conditioning to the building; repair and replacing Township equipment within the community center; and sealing and repairing the parking lot, and shall the Township levy such millage for these purposes? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise approximately $47,655.00 for the Township when first levied in 2026.
