Maricopa County Constable University Lakes
ConstableA constable is an officer of the county justice courts. Constables and their deputies are the executive enforcement branch of the county justice courts. Duties include executing and returning writs of possession or restitution (evictions), serving orders of protection or orders prohibiting harassment, serving civil and criminal summons and subpoenas, and seizing property to satisfy judgments. 4-year term. Why you should care:In addition to their enforcement responsibilities, constables perform much of the community outreach required by the court, such as summoning jurors. The constable will have significant face-to-face interactions with their community. A constable is extremely important not only for ensuring safety in the courtroom but also for ensuring effective communication between the courts and communities. For additional information:https://www.azcleanelections.gov/how-government-works/arizona-county-constable

1. Work with landlords, city, agencies, and organizations to reduce evictions. - I have a good working relationship with landlords and I am able to provide resources for tenants.
2. Animal welfare - I complete evictions as soon as possible. This ensures that if an animal is left behind, I can save their lives. Unfortunately, this happens more than one would think.
3. Homeless issues - I work with the city for resources, shelters and other services. I am working eith the city to create a Homeless Commission.
I am honored to be the Constable for University Lakes Justice Precinct for the last eight years. I have both law enforcement and victim advocacy background. I am trauma informed care trained.
Animals left behind. Tempe Police respond and take possession of any dog/cat. Other organizations will take other 'pets.'
Being evicted can be very traumatizing. Some show that by anger and aggression. I try to deescalte and provide resources.
