Public Elected Offices Held Executive Director of the Downtown Blue Springs C.I.D. (Community Investment District)
Incumbent? YES or NO No
I have accumulated a lifetime of experience and education while always working and serving my community. I spent 17 years in the fire and burglar alarm industry working while earning my first degree from MCC in 2000. I went on to earn dual Bachelor's (2004) and a Master's from UMKC (2014). Along the way, I have taught and tutored college writing skills, history, Social Studies, and K-8 Science. I specialize in regional and 19th Century history. For the last 15 years, my wife and I have made great personal sacrifices to create and and maintain a locally owned buisness in the form of a café restaurant called Bean Counter Café. The results of our efforts speak for themselves. We have created a place that is loved by our employees, the community, and travelers alike. I believe the cumulative evidence indicates that I posses not only the knowledge and skills for this office, but also an incredible work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile in service to the people of District 6.

It is my goal to serve on a winning team. This election cycle will see a nearly completely new role of county legislators. Everyone on both sides of the aisle is responding to constituent demand for a reform of the tax assessment system. We demand a system that is fair, equitable, and transparent. The time is right to reform and modernize county government and bring it into the 21st century. It is my intent to serve on that county legislature that successfully updates the tax codes to make them not only fair and equitable, but also makes the tax paying process efficient and easy to navigate. As I travel around the county, sometimes on my bicycle, I am concerned about the counties growing population of unhoused and working poor. I see them walking or cycling to work. People live out of their cars, in RVs, and in hotels. Other candidates and even my constituents may not see this, but I do. It is my priority to serve not only those who have the most, but also those who have the least.
