U.S. RepresentativeDescription of office: The U.S. Congress is made up of two chambers. The House of Representatives is the lower chamber, with 435 members, including 9 from Arizona. Representatives must be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years, and a resident of the state. The entire membership of the House is elected every 2 years. Each term is 2 years, and there are no term limits.Responsibilities: Representatives pass laws, serve on committees, approve the federal budget, and impose taxes and tariffs (taxes on goods imported from another country). The House has several exclusive powers not granted to the Senate, including the power to introduce revenue bills and to elect the president if no majority of electoral votes is reached. The House can impeach (bring charges against) elected officials. Why you should care: The laws Congress passes affect almost every aspect of your lives, including taxes and spending, the safety of our food and drugs, elections and voting, labor laws, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ benefits, the postal service, the climate, and national infrastructures such as dams, reservoirs, roads, bridges, and rural high-speed internet access. Congress can declare war, but cannot prevent the Executive Branch/President from deploying troops without a formal declaration of war.For additional information: https://www.house.gov/the-house-explained https://www.azcleanelections.gov/how-government-works/us-representatives

I will use Congress’s constitutional oversight authority to hold federal agencies accountable, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure transparency. I will support strong audits, investigations into waste, fraud, and abuse, responsible appropriations, and legislation that limits executive overreach while restoring accountability to the American people.
I will defend the Constitution by protecting the separation of powers, supporting an independent judiciary, and ensuring the Department of Justice and federal law enforcement apply the law equally and fairly. I will oppose political interference, hold agencies accountable, and preserve the checks and balances that protect every American.
I will support policies that lower costs by reducing unnecessary government spending, cutting burdensome regulations, strengthening American energy production, and supporting small businesses that create good-paying jobs. Arizona families need an economy where wages grow, healthcare is affordable, housing is attainable, and hardworking citizens can keep more of what they earn.
I will support policies that grow Arizona’s economy by empowering small businesses, expanding workforce training, and strengthening career and technical education. We must invest in good-paying jobs, support American manufacturing and energy independence, reduce unnecessary regulations, and create opportunities where Arizona workers and families can thrive.
I will support responsible budgeting that puts taxpayers first by reducing wasteful spending, increasing transparency, and holding federal agencies accountable. We must address the national debt while protecting essential services, supporting infrastructure, honoring commitments to veterans and seniors, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely.
I will support securing our border, enforcing our immigration laws, and ensuring federal agencies are accountable while protecting due process and civil rights. We need a legal immigration system that works, efficient asylum processing, and policies that prioritize public safety, American workers, and the rule of law.
I support stronger ethics standards that restore trust in Congress. Members of Congress should be held to the highest standards, including greater transparency, clear financial disclosures, restrictions that prevent insider trading, and stronger safeguards against conflicts of interest. Public service should be about serving the people, not personal gain.
