Antrim County - Kearney Township Proposal to Renew Extra-voted Road Improvement Millage Ballot Language
This proposal reestablishes the 0.5 mill road millage previously approved by the electors that expired after the December 2025 levy. Specifically, the proposal renews the previously authorized 0.4758 mills and restores the 0.0242 mills rolled back by the Headlee Amendment.Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Kearney Township of 0.50 mills($0.50 per $1000 of taxable value), reduced to 0.4758 mills ($0.4758 per $1,000 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 0.50 mills ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for four (4) years, 2026 through 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for road construction and maintenance, which 0.50 mills will raise an estimated $94,056 in the first year the millage is levied?
