Baca County Commissioner Dist 2
The county commissioners act as the governing body of the county. They enact policies such as the establishment of the property tax rate and the adoption of the budget. They adopt ordinances or local laws that affect citizens living in the unincorporated areas of the county. They are elected by all voters in the county to represent the district in which they live and serve a four year term.

Success in the first 100 days means engaging with local residents to hear their concerns and find common ground on the tough topics that face our county. Those include land and water use, property rights, state agency collaboration, economic development, and balancing resource needs compared to available funding. I want the citizens of Baca County to feel they are being heard and their opinions taken into consideration.
We have several needs including county health and human services, emergency management, and road & bridge. A balanced approach must be taken in managing current and new funding decisions. We have approximately 1100 miles of roads that our main industry of Ag relies on daily. The same limited infrastructure also affects future economic development than can help support other needs in the county.
My family is deeply rooted in Baca County having farmed and ranched here for over 110 years. I've spent 30 years leading in the cooperative system across the United States. I have led multimillion dollar budgets, meeting the needs of our customer/owner, while maintaining financial stability. I will bring these same learnings and skills developed over 3 decades to the role of County Commissioner.
