6 year term. Vote for not more than one.Duties of the Road CommissionerThe Road Commissioner will work with the board to set the direction for the county roads. The Commissioners must strategically communicate with the county board of commissioners, township boards, county residents, neighboring communities and Legislators about the county’s need for adequate funding. To shape the future of roads in the county, the commissioner must anticipate what the demand for roads will be in the future of the county. And as stewards of the right-of-way (ROW), road commissions develop ROW permitting policy to control access to electricity, water, sewer, telecommunications and residential and commercial property access for the county residents and businesses.
