I moved to Fair Oaks Ranch while on active duty with the Army JAG Corps, and my family and I fell in love with this community. As an attorney, I have experience navigating complex regulatory and public policy issues, which are directly relevant to the decisions City Council members face. I’m also a veteran, which instills a strong commitment to service, accountability, and leadership. Having lived in Seattle, I’ve seen firsthand how poor policy decisions can negatively impact a community. As a husband and father, I’m invested in preserving what makes Fair Oaks Ranch special while ensuring responsible, measured growth.
Managing growth is the defining issue facing Fair Oaks Ranch. Growth brings pressure on infrastructure, water resources, and—importantly—public safety. As our city grows, protecting families should be a
priority. That’s why I’m proposing child safety zones, creating up to 2,000-foot buffer zones around all parks and trails making it illegal for registered sex offenders to live in or use these spaces. Cities across Texas have already implemented these laws. Fair Oaks Ranch must get up to speed to protect our kids. We must also prioritize personal property rights, fiscal discipline, and responsible development.
Time and again, residents tell me they are glad I’m running because they’re tired of uncontested elections. Last year, my opponent walked into an open city council seat and this year was set to run unopposed
again. I stepped in because voters deserve a choice. I hear concerns about overspending on projects like the welcome sign, and government overreach from current councilmembers proposing permits to remove trees on private property. Most importantly, people want our council to be proactive about preserving safety and quality of life as we grow, which is why families overwhelmingly support my child safety zone proposal.
My background as an entrepreneur and volunteer fully prepared me to be an effective Councilmember. I farmed and managed up to 10,000 acres of row crops, cattle, and catfish in the Mississippi River Valley. During that time I spun off companies in real estate and land development. I moved to Texas and created an oilfield services
company and grew it to 42 employees before selling and moving to BISD to raise a family. I've volunteered prolifically all my life and understand the importance of using the skills I've been given and honed to benefit the communities I'm a part of.
The most pressing issues facing Fair Oaks Ranch City Council are guiding careful growth, ensuring a sustainable water supply, and dealing with the increased pressures that San Antonio exerts as it grows towards us. In my time on City Council, I have found that these challenges often go hand-in-hand, requiring decisive planning and responsible decision-making to protect the character and long-term stability of our community. Our Council already includes two lawyers, two military leaders, a CPA, and a commercial real estate broker, and I
believe my entrepreneurial skillset provides a valuable and unique perspective in addressing these challenges.
Fair Oaks Ranch residents are telling me that they want to preserve our city and its unique characteristics for future generations, and the aforementioned issues come up often. Through recent block walking, I've collected valuable feedback on my personal performance. Many residents have expressed appreciation for having a Councilmember who habitually explores cost-saving opportunities and takes a practical approach to maintaining our roads, water, and wastewater systems. Residents have also been very supportive of our decision to directly tie growth to available water resources. Their trust motivates me to lead responsibly and keep Fair Oaks Ranch strong and sustainable always.
