Nevada Attorney General (4 yr terms, 2 term limit=8 yrs) The Attorney General is Nevada’s chief legal officer and serves as the state’s top law enforcement authority. This office represents the state in legal matters, defends and enforces state laws, provides legal guidance to state agencies, and may initiate lawsuits on behalf of Nevada residents. The Attorney General plays a key role in consumer protection, public safety, civil rights enforcement, and oversight of government conduct. Because the office helps uphold the rule of law, ensure accountability, and protect the legal rights of individuals and communities, this race is significant in maintaining integrity within state government and ensuring that laws are applied fairly and consistently across Nevada.

In the Legislature, I have worked to ensure our criminal statutes protect Nevadans, including strengthening penalties against scams targeting senior citizens and modernizing our child pornography statutes to keep pace with new technology. As Attorney General, I will continue to ensure that Nevadans' rights are being protected and that we have the necessary tools to prosecute bad actors. At the same time, I support diversion courts and community based solutions, especially for veterans, people with serious mental health addiction issues, or those who may need additional community supports once released. Prevention strategies, especially for younger Nevadans, can help prevent entry into the criminal justice system in the first place.
I do not support the deployment of federal agents for adjunct law enforcement duties. This past November, I was proud to help write the law banning ICE from entering schools without a warrant. Except for very limited circumstances, Governors have control over the National Guard, and federal agents should only be deployed with the consent of state and local leaders.
State attorneys general have a critical role to play with respect to immigration enforcement. If elected, I would work to provide guidance to state agencies, local governments, and residents to ensure Nevadans are informed of their constitutional rights and that those rights are being respected by agencies with immigration responsibilities. State attorneys general also serve as a critical firewall against federal overreach, including challenging the withholding of funds or preventing the conditioning of funding on cooperation with ICE.

As Treasurer, I make our tax dollars stretch further. I know Nevada can better contain costs in our criminal justice system – without compromising safety – and reduce the burden on law enforcement, including the risk of burnout. We can keep violent criminals off the street while saving money in 3 ways. 1. Invest in re-entry programs such as job training to set people up for success leaving prison. 2. End the death penalty. It costs more than life in prison and does not reduce murder rates. 3. Address root causes of crime (lack of housing, jobs, mental health care) by continuing work I do as Treasurer: building affordable housing, helping small businesses and nonprofits stay open, and bringing health professionals to underserved communities.
Federal agents and the National Guard should not be deployed for adjunct law enforcement duties against the wishes of states and local communities. The Administration’s mass deportation agenda and hostility to foreign countries have made international tourists afraid to visit Las Vegas, costing Nevadans jobs at the same time prices are still soaring. As Treasurer, I am fighting the Administration to get $2.1 billion in tariffs unconstitutionally charged to Nevadans back in the hands of the families and small businesses that paid them. As Attorney General, I will stand strong against any attempt to bully our state into submission.
Nevadans deserve an Attorney General who will stand up for immigrant communities. I am the only candidate in the race willing to push back so local law enforcement can focus on our communities’ actual needs instead of helping the Trump Administration achieve its mass deportation goals. We need real solutions to support immigrant communities, not weak, quick fixes that make for good campaign talking points but do not meaningfully reduce risk for immigrant families.
