2026 17th Congressional District Primary

The United States House of Representatives is a chamber of the bicameral United States Congress; it is the lower house, with the U.S. Senate being the upper house. Together, the House and Senate have the authority under Article One of the U.S. Constitution in enumerated matters to pass or defeat federal legislation, known as bills.[3][4] Those that are also passed by the Senate are sent to the president for signature or veto. The House's exclusive powers include initiating all revenue bills, impeaching federal officers, and electing the president if no candidate receives a majority of votes in the Electoral College.[5][6]Members of the House serve a fixed term of two years, with each seat up for election before the start of the next Congress.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives

As a Village Trustee in Tarrytown, I serve as the liaison for our board to the Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Committee, and have learned from local experts about the challenges our local environment faces. And as a House member, I will join the Environmental Caucus to further educate myself and advocate for the environment, globally and here in the Hudson Valley.

My congressional district offices will serve as a resource hub for the community, and serve to connect constituents to environmental services and opportunities. This includes helping local municipalities secure grants for green energy projects, raising awareness about vocational training for green jobs such as electricians and HVAC technicians, and supporting climate change awa
As a member of Congress, I will be committed to helping unlock capital for businesses, especially women and minority-owned enterprises, by increasing transparency around funding streams beyond grants to scale the capital of our regional economy. As a nonprofit leader, I am well aware that most federal programs are too small or bureaucratic to help small businesses grow, which is why I am committed to hosting workshops and webinars on financial planning and strategy with federal resources that have historically not been available in NY-17. I will also fight to expand and modernize the Small Business Administration's 7(a) and 504 lending programs to enable gender-equity scoring, dedicate pools for women-owned firms in NY-17, and push for a f
Access to affordable housing is a top priority. To me, affordable housing is a bridge between raising a family and building wealth. NY-17 isn’t struggling with disinvestment; it’s struggling with access and cost barriers. High home prices and rents push out early-career professionals, single parents and essential workers. Long commutes to job centers reduce workforce participation and upward mobility. Also, women, especially caregivers, are disproportionately affected by housing instability, distance from childcare and jobs, and a lack of flexible living arrangements. Affordable housing is a gatekeeper to economic participation, not just a quality-of-life issue. As a member of Congress, I will focus federal incentives on affordable housing
The conflicts in Israel and Iran are diverting essential resources that could be allocated for critical domestic needs, nationally and here in our district. According to Brown University, as much as $34 billion was spent supporting Israel over the last two years, a number much larger than the current annual budgets of every county in NY-17, combined. Aid to Israel should not be unconditional and I support the Block the Bombs Act that puts necessary guardrails around arms sales.

In Iran, I support the immediate withdrawal of our armed forces from the region and the utilization of historical vehicles within the United Nations to broker the needed peace agreements through an equitable forum. As of right now, there is no clear strategy for a r
Absolutely not. There is no sound legal basis to claim the 14th Amendment allows ending birthright citizenship for any child born in the U.S. In the United States v. Wong Kim Ark of 1898, the Supreme Court ruled that a child born in the U.S. is a citizen regardless of the parents’ immigration status (in this case, the parents were non-citizens and not eligible for naturalization). The Court adopted a broad, common-law understanding of birthright citizenship. While I am not an attorney, this case remains the controlling precedent today. The White House cannot override a constitutional provision or a Supreme Court ruling with an executive order.
