The Katy Independent School District (KISD) Board of Trustees is KISD’s governing body.Duties include establishing KISD's policy and goals, monitoring success, adopting a budget, setting a tax rate, and appointing the school superintendent. Board members are elected at-large by all voters in KISD for staggered 4-year terms with no term limits and serve without pay.

Combining my 25+ years of education (teaching and administrative) expertise with the perspective of a proud Katy ISD parent, I offer a unique "360-degree" view of our schools that other candidates simply cannot match. Voters can trust me to bridge the gap between complex fiscal oversight and the daily needs of our students, ensuring fiscal responsibility while protecting the high-quality education my own children used as a springboard to success.
The greatest challenges are a multi-million dollar deficit and teacher retention. As a board member, I will tackle these with administrative precision and educator empathy. I will advocate for zero-based budgeting. We must "upend" department budgets, requiring every non-instructional expense to be justified from scratch. By eliminating "back-office" redundancies and non-essential consulting, we protect every dollar for our "front lines"—the classrooms and student programs. For teacher retention, we must address benefits. We must prioritize aggressive negotiations and innovative solutions to lower health insurance premiums and prescription costs. Neither of these challenges is easy, but they require strategic + innovative thinking to solve.
