Campaign Statement
You, the voter, should have the loudest, most important voice in local politics. I'm tired of parties telling the voters what they should think. I want to truly represent YOU.

Republican Precinct 318 Committeeman
No, I have not.
Absolutely! As someone who worked directly for our local elected officials in Kootenai County for a decade, I am a strong advocate for communication & transparency in government. When I was the President of the League of Women Voters, I even helped host a candidate forum. I have also supported the creation of a fact-based voter guide in Kootenai County. As a member of the Central Committee, I would encourage hosting candidate forums and encourage ALL Republican candidates to participate. I would also encourage ANY interested local resident to run for office. I believe voters should have a choice. Debates and forums help them have an informed choice, which is critical.
I believe in treating elections like job interviews. In general, a candidate's qualifications are most important (including prior experience and applicable skills, such as overseeing large budgets). Qualifications and skills would come first, followed by local experience, and then adherence to a national party. That being said, partisan candidates absolutely have an obligation to represent their constituents. In representing my neighborhood on the Republican Central Committee, I would fight for greater transparency in the vetting process so my neighbors would know that candidates are being asked the questions THEY want answers to. I would also fight to ensure that only committee members elected by the voters are the ones vetting candidates.
I have years of experience promoting communication & transparency in local government in Kootenai County. I want to bring those skills to this position. As a Republican voter, frankly, I feel like the current processes of the KCRCC treat Republican voters like they aren't smart enough to make their own decisions. Rather than telling us who to vote for, they should provide the information for us to make up our own minds. I want to empower conservative voters, not control them. At the county, I pushed for the creation of a communications position (which I eventually also held). In that role, I built the first social media pages for the county & I oversaw the project to bring public meetings online. I'll keep my neighbors informed & empowered.

Precinct Committeeman
First of all, thank you for the opportunity to participate in this survey.
Yes. I have served as the Committeewoman for Precinct 318 for the past four years. Prior to that, I spent about a year actively walking the precinct, giving me over five years of involvement in the Hayden community.
During my time as a PC, I have had the opportunity to serve as:
• 2024 Republican Presidential Caucus Captain for six precincts
• 2024 GOP Convention Delegate in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
• Current member of the Kootenai County GOP Legislative Committee
This experience has allowed me to actively support elections, engage with voters, and represent my precinct with dedication and passion for the family values we all wish to carry on in Kootenai County.
Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and to run their own campaigns. I will offer advice and help if asked, but PCs do not direct other candidates’ actions. I encourage all voters to be informed and to get out and vote.
Some elections are non-partisan, and I respect that organizations like the League of Women Voters value that approach. However, the role of a Precinct Committeeman is inherently partisan and exists to support and uphold a political party’s platform, whether Republican or Democratic. With that in mind, while qualifications, local experience, and skills are all important, I place strong emphasis on a candidate’s adherence to the Republican platform. (IDGOP.org).
My values—pro-life, low taxes, limited government, faith-driven, and family-first—align perfectly with the Republican Party platform. As a conservative woman, I have spent the past four years not only fulfilling the responsibilities of a Precinct Committeewoman, but also going above and beyond to serve my neighborhood, support elections, and engage with voters. I bring both proven experience and a strong commitment to representing my community well. You can find out more about me on my website, Sandy4Hayden.com.
